If you’re trying to buy a home, know that your real estate agent could be costing you thousands of dollars. While it’s true that the seller pays the buyer’s agent’s commission, you’re paying more than you think, and I’m here to show you that.

When you work with an agent, you’re paying for their experience, skills as a negotiator, understanding of the market, and familiarity with the process. If you aren’t working with someone who is highly trained in these things, you could easily overpay for a house, especially in 2023. Therefore, you may not be paying directly, but choosing the wrong agent can cost you.

I highly encourage you to think clearly and carefully about who’s going to help you buy a house, making sure that you are truly getting a good deal. You need to work with someone honest, even if that means they tell you they don’t think you should buy a particular house because it’s not a good deal.
